The Los Angeles Dodgers beat the New York Yankees so badly on Saturday that even Shohei Ohtani had a difficult time staying awake for the entire game.
The Dodgers’ bats could not be tamed during their 18-2 win over the Yankees on Saturday at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif. Ohtani accounted for two of his team’s 21 hits before he was removed from the blowout in order to get some rest, and it would be an understatement to say he took full advantage.
At one point late in the game, Ohtani appeared to fall asleep in the dugout. He had his head resting against the dugout railing with his eyes closed and then reacted exactly like a person would react after accidentally nodding off.

The Dodgers jumped out to a 10-0 lead after two innings, so the game was basically over before it started. Ohtani is probably not the only player whose heart rate was a lot lower during Saturday’s game than a normal contest. Though, the little nap did show a human side of the two-way star that fans are not used to seeing.
Keep in mind that it has only been about a month since Ohtani and his wife welcomed their first child. Ohtahi might be dealing with that new dad sleep deprivation.
