Report names 6 trade suitors for Luis Robert Jr.
Luis Robert Jr. appears to be piquing the interest of some heavy hitters.
In an appearance this week on “B/R Walkoff,” Jon Heyman of the New York Post named six potential trade suitors for the Chicago White Sox outfield masher Robert. He mentioned the Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, and Atlanta Braves in the NL as well as the Kansas City Royals, Seattle Mariners, and Toronto Blue Jays in the AL.
Though he is often injured and batting just .196 this season, Robert remains the best offensive asset on the hapless 17-52 White Sox. Robert has room to grow at 26 years old and is signed on an affordable contract through 2027. The righty slugger was also an AL MVP candidate just last season with his 38 home runs and 80 RBIs in 145 games.
All of the teams mentioned by Heyman (with the exception of the 33-35 Blue Jays) are firmly in contention this season and will thus be looking to buy at the July 30 MLB trade deadline. Robert most definitely will not come cheap though as we recently heard that the White Sox have set a very lofty asking price for him.
