How did Tim Tebow’s first official at-bat as a professional baseball player go? Home run, of course.
Tebow appeared in his first instructional league game with the New York Mets organization on Wednesday. He swing at the first pitch he saw and drove it deep to left-center field. And, wouldn’t you know, it left the ballpark.

Of course, Tebow began sprinting down to first base as soon as he made contact. You can question whether his decision to pursue a career in baseball was a wise one, but no one would ever accuse the former Florida Gators star of not hustling.
Tebow had a mixed first day in his first official practice earlier this month (videos here), but it doesn’t get any better than homering on your first pitch. That had to have felt good. No wonder the Mets are charging so much for his jerseys.
