Trevor Bauer has been trying to get Alex Bregman to train with him at the Seattle facility where he works out extensively during the offseason, and the Cleveland Indians pitcher seems to think Bregman will eventually cave to peer pressure.
Earlier this offseason, Bauer issued a challenge where he will pay for training for hitters who are willing to take live at-bats off of him at Driveline Baseball. He said he would pay $1,000 as a bonus for every home run hit off of him and decided to tag Bregman, taunting the Houston Astros star by saying “you won’t.” When Bregman shared a promotional video over the weekend, Bauer got in his ear again.
Can’t believe your son didn’t make the video, dad. If you never slow down why don’t you speed your way up to Seattle and take live abs off me for charity. number 8 never ducked a challenge. #MambaOutage https://t.co/vJXFk483oa

Bauer made an appearance in each game of the ALDS last season against the Astros, and he was knocked around a bit in what ended up being a series sweep for Houston. Bregman, who homered off Bauer in the series, responded to the trash talk on Saturday by reminding the right-hander of his struggles.

Ah yes. I see the correlation. You’ve both taken massive Ls in your most recent bouts.

Bro… you were our best player in the postseason last year…stop

Thanks for admitting I’m better than you

Bregman made reference to the home run the first time the two traded shots on Twitter, and you can’t blame him for pulling that card again. Unfortunately, getting Bauer to cool it with the trash talk is almost impossible. He just loves it way too much.
