Report: Trevor Bauer outburst could impact trade value
Trevor Bauer has been subject to trade rumors throughout much of the month of July, but his on-field outburst Sunday could have negative repercussions if the Cleveland Indians are serious about moving him.
Bauer launched a ball over the center field wall in frustration when he was relieved by manager Terry Francona during Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Royals. The scene quickly became the talk of baseball, and according to ESPN’s Buster Olney, some executives speculated that Bauer’s behavior could hurt his trade value.
Lots and lots of industry speculation about how much this incident affects Bauer’s trade value. Ugly.

The Indians have been surging of late and are just one game back of the Minnesota Twins in the AL Central. That alone may have diminished the chances of a Bauer trade, though Cleveland has been discussing potential deals with other teams as recently as this week. Ultimately, Bauer himself may have killed off any real chance of the Indians getting the value they want in a deadline trade.
