Report: Twins to sign Cody Allen to minor league deal
In need of a bit of extra relief help, the Minnesota Twins are taking a flier on Cody Allen.

The 30-year-old Allen will be familiar with the AL Central from his time with Cleveland, but he might not be the same pitcher. He posted a 6.26 ERA in 25 appearances with the Los Angeles Angels, and things got so bad that they designated him for assignment five months after signing him to a one-year, $8.5 million contract with the intention of making him their closer.
The Twins are running away with the AL Central at 50-26, but with their bullpen ERA hovering around 4.50, they still have some work to do. Allen is worth a shot at this point.
