Twitter reacts to Mets’ epic collapse against Nationals

The New York Mets sunk to a new low by blowing a six-run lead in the 9th inning of Tuesday night’s game against the Washington Nationals. Just when Mets fans were feeling great about the offense scoring five in the ninth to take a 10-4 lead, their bullpen turned around and failed to close things out, allowing seven runs to lose 11-10. The pen only got one out in the ninth.

The Mets had a 99.7 percent win probability and still blew it. That’s probably the game that ends their postseason hopes.

The Twitter reactions to the Mets’ unbelievable failures were pretty funny, albeit slightly morbid.

We feel your pain, Mets fans. We really do. Nobody deserves this. Not even Brodie Van Wagenen or the meddling Wilpons.
