Baseball fans hoping to hear one last call from legendary broadcaster Vin Scully will be disappointed to hear that he simply isn’t interested.
With the Los Angeles Dodgers headed to the World Series, some fans had hoped Scully would return to the booth, even if only for an inning or two, to call a bit of the action. The Dodgers have confirmed, however, that this will not be the case, stating that Scully wants to enjoy the ride as a fan.
Dodgers say Vin Scully isn't gonna work in the World Series. He just wants to be a fan.

More: "Both will be enjoying the World Series like all our great Dodger fans. Vin is excited and he can't wait to cheer on the Dodgers."

Scully issued a brief statement via email on Friday confirming his stance.
“I honestly don’t feel I belong there and I would not want anyone to think I was eager for a spotlight,” Scully wrote, via Tom Hoffarth of the Los Angeles Daily News.
Scully’s stance has not changed since the question was raised to him in August. He has been taking in some of the home games in person, but he firmly subscribes to the view that when he’s done, he’s done — it’s just a pity for fans that he called it a day one year before this Dodger run.
