Vlad Guerrero Jr. offers great quote about Blue Jays ahead of season
The Toronto Blue Jays had a very good season last year but narrowly missed out on the playoffs. Vlad Guerrero Jr. is expecting even bigger things this season.
The Young Blue Jays slugger spoke with reporters on Thursday during Spring Training and offered a killer quote. Guerrero teased that last year’s 91-71 season was the trailer, and this year fans and the media would see the “movie.”
Vladimir Guerrero Jr., on the possibilities for the Blue Jays in 2022: “Last year was the trailer. Now you guys are going to see the movie.”

That’s a pretty bold statement by Vlad, but it’s hard not to feel like he’s on to something.
Toronto went through a rebuilding process from 2017-2019 while developing young prospects, such as himself, Bo Bichette, Lourdes Gurriel Jr. and Cavan Biggio. But last year, many of their players blossomed, and the Blue Jays put together a loaded offense that included seven hitters in the lineup producing more than 20 home runs.
The Jays may have lost Marcus Semien to Texas, but they are still stacked and recently added Matt Chapman. They also signed pitcher Kevin Gausman and Jose Berrios. And if Vlad thinks last year was the trailer in a season when he batted .311 with 48 home runs, then lookout for what he might do in 2022. The Blue Jays are no joke.
