Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and David Ortiz had the best time mocking the Yankees

David Ortiz interviews Vladimir Guerrero Jr

The New York Yankees on Wednesday night had their season end without a championship for the 16th consecutive season, and Toronto Blue Jays star Vladimir Guerrero Jr. could not have looked happier while rubbing it in his rival’s face.

The Blue Jays advanced to the ALCS with a 5-2 win over the Yankees in Game 4 of the ALDS at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx, N.Y. After the game, Guerrero and fellow “Yankee killer” David Ortiz had the time of their lives trolling the Bronx Bombers.

Guerrero was interviewed by FS1 during Toronto’s clubhouse celebration. For nearly a minute straight, Ortiz and Guerrero mocked the Yankees by saying “DAAAAA YANKEES LOSE!”

Big Papi and Guerrero were putting their own spin on former Yankees announcer John Sterling’s famous “theeeeee Yankees win” tag line.

Yankees legends Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez were sitting right next to Ortiz in the FS1 studio, which undoubtedly made the celebration even more satisfying for Big Papi and Guerrero.

Ortiz always loved playing against the Yankees and had several huge hits against them in the playoffs. Guerrero has done the same thus far in his career. He blasted three home runs against New York in the ALDS. While the Blue Jays slugger insists he does not have any added motivation when facing the Yankees, he has made hating his AL East rival part of his identity.

The Yankees may have gotten the best of the Red Sox in the AL Wild Card Series, but Ortiz can relax more now that his rival has been eliminated. Guerrero has to remain focused on the task at hand, though it is hard to imagine him being any more thrilled than he was on Wednesday night.
