Vladimir Guerrero made his mark on the trading card market as well as Major League Baseball during his debut weekend.
Guerrero, MLB’s No. 1 prospect, was called up by the Toronto Blue Jays and made his big league debut on Friday. He was 1-for-4 with a double in his first game and recorded one hit in each game of Toronto’s three-game series versus the Oakland A’s.
On Monday, the baseball world was abuzz with reactions following Guerrero’s arrival to the majors. He also marked his entry to the baseball card world with a bang. According to card manufacturer Topps, a Guerrero rookie card set a record.

Guerrero, the son of baseball Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero, had as much hype surrounding him as anyone in recent memory. He was even compared to basketball star Zion Williamson.
Whether Guerrero achieves the level of success his father did remains to be seen. However, he has clearly reached a level of popularity few are able to reach.
