Adam Ottavino will be making history when he steps on the mound for the New York Yankees this season.
Ottavino officially signed a 3-year deal with the Yankees, the team announced on Thursday. He will wear jersey No. 0 for the team, making him the first player in franchise history to wear that number, according to MLB.com Yankees reporter Bryan Hoch.

The Yankees have 21 numbers retired, so there isn’t a huge selection to choose from when picking a number. Maybe that’s why Ottavino went with zero.
Ottavino agreed to a deal with the Yankees last week, and the contract was finalized when he passed his physical. His deal pays him $27 million over three seasons — $3 million as a signing bonus and $8 million per season in salary.
The Yankees should have an absolutely stacked bullpen entering the season. In addition to Ottavino, they also have Aroldis Chapman, Dellin Betances, Zach Britton and Chad Green.
