Report: Yankees want to add two starting pitchers

New York Yankees

After their rotation somewhat failed them in 2018, the New York Yankees are determined to add some serious depth to their pitching staff.

According to Jon Heyman of Fancred, the Yankees want to add two starting pitchers even after retaining CC Sabathia for one more season. The list of potential targets includes some big names, such as Patrick Corbin, who is a free agent, and trade candidates Corey Kluber, Carlos Carrasco, and James Paxton.

The likes of Sonny Gray simply didn’t prove reliable for the 2017 Yankees, leading them to this point. Corbin has long been on their radar, but the emergence of names like Kluber and Carrasco as targets suggests they could be willing to part with some major pieces to bring in a frontline starter via trade.
