The New York Yankees figure to be one of the teams looking closely at starting pitching upgrades over the next week or so and have already had some conversations about adding an arm to the rotation.
According to Jon Morosi of MLB.com, the Yankees have spoken with the Arizona Diamondbacks about pitcher Robbie Ray in the last few days, though there are no indications that any deal is close.

The Yankees have been linked to most available starters, and Ray would fit the bill. The left-hander has a 3.95 ERA and 162 strikeouts in 123 innings, though his 58 walks lead the National League. That said, Ray has another year of control, a penchant for getting strikeouts, and would be a good option for a Yankee team that has run into some roadblocks with other potential additions.
