Yankees moving Gleyber Torres up in lineup for ALCS against Astros
Gleyber Torres is getting rewarded for his scorching hitting in the ALDS.
The New York Yankees infielder was moved up to the No. 3 spot in the lineup for Saturday’s ALCS Game 1 against the Houston Astros, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com. The promotion comes after Torres went 5-for-12 with a homer and four RBIs in the Yankees’ three-game ALDS sweep of the Minnesota Twins.
Torres, the two-time All-Star, had been hitting out of the No. 6 spot against the Twins and operated out of the No. 5 spot for much of the regular season.
The buzz is already palpable for the ALCS showdown, so expect the two teams to continue making tweaks like this to try to throw each other off balance.
