Yankees will now have ridiculous lineup after Encarnacion addition
The New York Yankees appear intent on living up to the “Bronx Bombers” nickname with their addition of Edwin Encarnacion.
Encarnacion becomes the latest power hitter to join the New York lineup. As ESPN’s Jeff Passan notes, the move will give them astounding depth, and possibly the deepest lineup in the sport.
Here is what the New York Yankees’ lineup should look like soon.
LeMahieu 5
Judge 9
Stanton 7
Sanchez 2
Voit 3
Hicks 8
Encarnación DH
Gregorius 6
Torres 4Gleyber Torres, who may well be their No. 9 hitter, came into today hitting .285/.338/.515 with 14 home runs.

There isn’t a single easy out in the entire lineup. Even the non-power hitters, like DJ LeMahieu, can easily hit .300. Of course, health matters, as evidenced by the fact that the Yankees have barely had Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton this year.
The other big question is whether the Yankees have enough pitching. They seem to be shying away from the top names on the market, and they do have rotation depth that has been negatively impacted by health this year. That, more than the lineup, is the question mark at this point.
