Zack Greinke won’t even miss any time despite an injury scare in his last start.
Greinke departed his start against the Pirates on Wednesday in the eighth inning after feeling something in his abdomen. He underwent an MRI that came up clean, and the Arizona Diamondbacks said Greinke would throw a bullpen session on Saturday to determine his status.
Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said the bullpen went well and that Greinke will make his start on Tuesday.
Zack Greinke’s bullpen went “very good” today and he will start on Tuesday, Torey Lovullo says.

This is big for Arizona, which is expecting to be without pitcher Taijuan Walker for at least six weeks. Greinke has been their best pitcher all season and one of the best in the league. He is 6-1 with a 2.78 ERA and 0.88 WHIP, and Arizona is 7-3 in the games he’s started this season. He’s allowed just five runs over his last six starts.
