Philadelphia 76ers fans are not exactly enthusiastic about Paul George bringing back “Podcast P.”

George pressed pause on his podcast in February as the Sixers’ season fell into shambles. The nine-time All-Star explained that he did so in order to help Philadelphia “compete for a championship.” That did not come close to happening.

At the time, the 76ers were 20-38 but still had an outside shot at sneaking into the play-in tournament. But the team finished the season winning just four of its final 24 games. Philadelphia went into full-on tank mode shortly after George took a break from podcasting.

On Tuesday, George posted the first episode of “Podcast P” in nearly three months. The Sixers star explained in the episode that he had no plans of “running away” from anything. After using the hiatus to get himself fully healthy, George stated that he wanted to “give back” to the fans.

Some Sixers fans did not sound excited about the prospect of George reviving his podcast. Instead, many clowned him over the decision.

Start it back up on different team please

Is he talking about “giving back to the people” on the basketball court or the podcast? Tell me he ain’t serious rn.

Philadelphia has developed a reputation for having some of the most passionate fans in sports. But that passion can quickly turn into hostility toward players when they aren’t performing on the court or field.

The 76ers signed George to a massive contract in the offseason with the hope that he would push the team into contention. Injury woes limited George to just 41 games in his first Sixers season.

George looked like a shell of himself when he was healthy enough to play. His 16.2 points per game was his lowest season average in a decade.
