Last month we told you that Allen Iverson was negotiating to play basketball in Puerto Rico. It looks like he’s going to an island to play ball, but it won’t be P.R.
Milton Nunez of the Dominican Republic league told the Associated Press that Iverson is set to arrive Sunday and play his first game for Pueblo Nuevo. He reportedly will play with them for a month.
A word of advice for Mr. Nunez: If Iverson’s foray into Dominican basketball goes anything like his stint in Turkey, don’t expect him to arrive on time.
UPDATE: Iverson didn’t sign with the team.
