Andre Drummond drops curious Instagram post after Stan Van Gundy departure
Andre Drummond seemed to have an interesting reaction to the departure of his head coach.
Shortly after news broke on Monday that the Detroit Pistons had mutually agreed to part ways with Stan Van Gundy, Drummond dropped a curious post to his Instagram Story that read, “I’m not going nowhere” with a heart emoji.

Granted, Drummond did post a classy farewell tweet to Van Gundy soon after.
Would like to take a min to wish Stan the best and thank you for everything you’ve put into our team the last four years. @DetroitPistons

But Van Gundy did not always appear to be happy with Drummond’s play, and that resulted in the 24-year-old being on the trading block for much of Van Gundy’s tenure. As president of basketball operations for the Pistons as well, Van Gundy had the power to trade Drummond if he chose to do so.
However, Drummond is coming off a career year where he put up 15.0 points and a league-best 16.0 rebounds per game, making his second All-Star team. With Van Gundy no longer in the mix either, he can breathe a bit easier now.
