New details have emerged regarding Tiger Woods’ disposition when he was arrested and charged with driving under the influence following a car crash last Friday.

Gabby Herzig and Brody Miller of The Athletic obtained the details from an arrest affidavit released Tuesday. Woods told local police that he looked down at his cell phone and was changing the radio station in his vehicle at the time of the crash. However, officers observed Woods “sweating profusely” despite having cool air flowing on him, and that woods demonstrated “several signs of impairment.”

“Woods’ movement was lethargic and slow,” the report stated. “While walking, I observed Woods limping and stumbling to the right … I asked Woods if he was able to perform tasks such as walking and lifting his leg, Woods advised he has a limp and his ankle seizes while walking.”

Woods’ eyes were bloodshot, and he had to be repeatedly reminded of instructions while undergoing field sobriety exercises. When he was arrested, two pills were found in his pants pocket, later identified as hydrocodone, known best to the public as Vicodin.

This is Woods’ second DUI arrest, and hydrocodone was one of the drugs found in his system during the first incident as well. Previous reports stated that Woods did not appear to have alcohol in his system, but refused to submit to a urinalysis test before ultimately being arrested.

Woods, 50, was charged with property damage and refusal to submit, in addition to the DUI charge. His first court date is scheduled for April 23.
