Minnesota Timberwolves guard Andrew Wiggins is one of the best dunkers in the NBA, and it just so happens that the 2016 NBA Slam Dunk Contest is taking place in his hometown of Toronto. It’s a match made in heaven, right?
Wrong.
Earlier this week, Tas Melas of NBA TV asked Wiggins if he would partake in the Slam Dunk Contest if invited. The 20-year-old couldn’t have been less enthused.

“Probably not,” Wiggins said, shaking his head and offering no explanation.
Wiggins’ teammate, Zach Lavine, won the 2015 Slam Dunk Contest thanks in part to a dunk that even made Dr. J’s jaw drop. You can watch some of LaVine’s incredible dunks here.
The thought of Wiggins and LaVine battling it out in Toronto is one that would excite basketball fans, especially ones who saw the offseason dunk show the two put on during practice. Unfortunately, it does not sound like it is going to happen.
