Angel Reese sends 4-word message after Sky’s upset win over Lynx

Angel Reese was in a very good mood after her team’s surprise victory over the weekend.

Reese and the Chicago Sky pulled off an impressive upset on Saturday against the Minnesota Lynx. The Sky triumphed by an 87-81 final score at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Ill. That marked just the fourth defeat of the season for the Lynx, who have the best record in the WNBA at 18-4.

After the game, Reese, who finished with 19 points on 8/14 shooting to go along with 11 rebounds, four assists, and two steals, gave a giddy on-court interview to ESPN. She closed out her interview with a four-word message, “DUBS IN THE CHAT!”

Reese also posted the same message to her X page.

DUBS IN THE CHATTTT

A “dub” (short for the letter “W”) is slang for a win. Saying “dubs in the chat” is a popular saying on streaming platforms as a way of calling for comments in the chat section that read “W” in order to acknowledge a victory.

Reese and the Sky still need to pick up a lot more “W”s as they are just 7-13 on the season in spite of the win on Saturday (fifth of six in the Eastern Conference). But successfully pulling off the upset on the Lynx is a very good place for them to start, especially considering how much frustration Reese has had over the last several weeks.
