Anthony Edwards issues statement after being accused of pressuring woman into abortion
Anthony Edwards appears to be in the middle of a messy situation.
Instagram model Paige Jordae made headlines by leaking a purported text message exchange between herself and the Minnesota Timberwolves star Edwards to her Instagram Story over the weekend. Paige revealed she was pregnant in the text exchange, and the man whom she alleges was Edwards responded by saying, “Get an abortion lol” and “Man you can’t force a kid in da [sic] world.”
The man also said in the exchange that he would send over money to Paige to pay for the abortion. He later asked Paige in several repeated messages to send him a video proving that she had taken abortion pills.
You can read the full purported text exchange, in which Paige tagged Edwards’ official Instagram account, here.
In light of the accusations, Edwards issued a statement to his X page.
“I made comments in the heat of a moment that are not me, and that are not aligned with what I believe and who I want to be as a man,” he wrote. “All women should be supported and empowered to make their own decisions about their bodies and what is best for them.
“I am handling my personal matters privately and will not be commenting on them any further at this time,” Edwards concluded.

The saga comes just days after Edwards’ longtime girlfriend, Jeanine Robel, announced on social media that she herself is pregnant.
Edwards, 22, is flying high this season for the Wolves. He is averaging a cool 24-5-5 stat line (on a career-best 39.4 percent from three) as Minnesota has raced out to a Western Conference-best 19-5 record. Edwards also got a five-year extension worth up to $260 million from the Wolves over the offseason and went viral at the time for a video saying he would shut down all the new women trying to go after him.
