Anthony Edwards reveals his big secret to success this season
Anthony Edwards has had a big season this year, and he revealed one of the biggest reasons for his success.
Edwards scored 43 points while leading his Minnesota Timberwolves to a 106-99 win over the Denver Nuggets in Game 1 of their Western Conference semifinals series on Saturday night at Ball Arena in Denver, Colo.
Edwards was interviewed by TNT’s Allie LaForce after the game and was asked about the roll he’s been on. He cited the work he did with USA Basketball over the offseason as helping him to prepare for this season.
“I put in work this summer. Big shoutout to the USA team — they got me ready for this season, and I appreciate them,” Edwards said.
Edwards played for USA Basketball and was part of the team that finished fourth in the FIBA Basketball World Cup. He emerged as one of the top players on the team, which may have elevated his game ahead of this big season, which has been a breakout year for Minnesota.
The Timberwolves went 56-26 in the regular season to earn the third seed in the West. They swept the Phoenix Suns and have taken a 1-0 lead over the Nuggets. At 5-0 this postseason, few teams have been hotter than the Timberwolves recently, and Edwards has been at the center of that run.
