Good news: Anthony Mason is making some progress as he recovers from a heart attack and congestive heart failure.
The 13-year NBA veteran was said to be “near death” on Wednesday with congestive heart failure, but his agent now says the former NBA forward is doing somewhat better.
“He isn’t out of the woods, but he’s had two good nights,” Mason’s agent Don Cronson told ESPN New York.
Cronson described Mason’s progress since undergoing multiple surgeries Wednesday as “small, but real.” He also says Mason’s status is more day-to-day now rather than hour-to-hour.
Mason was a beloved ballplayer during his playing days, especially after helping to lead the ’94 New York Knicks to the NBA Finals. The one-time NBA Sixth Man of the Year has our support and prayers.
