Blake Griffin on Warriors: I wouldn’t call this a rivalry

The Warriors almost lost their first game of the season Thursday night, but then they remembered they were playing the Clippers. Los Angeles came out on fire and had a 23-point lead well into the second quarter, but somehow the final ended up 124-117 in favor of Golden State.

Blake Griffin has an idea of how it happened.

Blake Griffin on the Warriors: "I wouldn't call this a rivalry. They're the better team. They have the upper hand."

— Jovan Buha (@jovanbuha) November 20, 2015

The Warriors have won five of their last six against Los Angeles. The Clippers have not won a championship in franchise history, while Golden State is currently the defending NBA champs. Rivalry? Not really.

The two teams don’t like each other. Griffin always seems to be at the center of that, whether he’s getting called out for flopping or doing messed up things to Warriors fans. But until the Clippers start actually having some success against Golden State, we’re just dealing with a lot of dislike — not a rivalry.
