Brett Brown declares Ben Simmons rookie of the year
Brett Brown is standing by his man amid questions about who should win NBA’s Rookie of the Year Award.
The Philadelphia 76ers head coach said unequivocally Saturday that Ben Simmons should win Rookie of the Year.

Brown’s remarks came after Simmons recorded a triple-double in Philly’s win over Minnesota, marking his 10th triple-double of the season. Simmons had 15 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists in the game and now has five triple-doubles in his last seven contests.
There have been questions about whether Simmons should win Rookie of the Year considering this is his second season with the Sixers, though he did not play in any games last season. That technicality has led some, including one Western Conference coach, to say another player — Donovan Mitchell — deserves the award.
