Report: Bucks may target Frank Kaminsky this summer

The Milwaukee Bucks could be bringing Wisconsin’s favorite son back home.
Sean Deveney of Sporting News reported on Friday that Charlotte Hornets big Frank Kaminsky may be an option for the Bucks this summer in the event that they are unable to re-sign Brook Lopez. Deveny also adds that Milwaukee attempted to trade for Kaminsky at the deadline but got turned down.
The 26-year-old Kaminsky, who averaged 8.6 points and 3.5 rebounds per game last season, was a four-year star at the University of Wisconsin, helping the Badgers make consecutive Final Fours in 2014 and 2015.
On Milwaukee’s end, Lopez is due for a big payday after a resurgent 2018-19 campaign in which he became one of the four most important players on their 60-win team. The fellow seven-footer Kaminsky would be a clear downgrade for the Bucks if Lopez were to sign elsewhere but might be able to replicate some of the three-point shooting and interior resistance that he provides.
It helps too that Kaminsky still very much appears to love the state.
