Cameron Payne appears happy with report he will be waived by Bulls

Cameron Payne did not seem to be broken up about the rumor he will be waived by the Chicago Bulls.

On Thursday, the Bulls traded Justin Holiday to the Memphis Grizzlies for Wayne Selden, MarShon Brooks, and a couple of future draft picks. As a result, the Bulls had 16 players on the roster, putting them one over the limit.

ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said the expectation was that Payne would be the player waived. That was apparently quite alright with Payne, who tweeted an emoji indicating he was grateful.

If waived, Payne would be free to sign with the team of his choosing if he goes unclaimed. Losses have been piling up for the Bulls so far this season. They are currently 10-28 and sit 13th in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. It’s not hard to see why Payne wouldn’t be disappointed to leave that kind of situation.
