The Boston Celtics announced big news about Jayson Tatum on Wednesday.
The Celtics said that Tatum will not play in Game 2 of their first-round playoff series against the Orlando Magic due to a right distal radius bone bruise, which is another way of saying a wrist injury. Tatum injured his right wrist following a hard foul from Kentavious Caldwell-Pope during Game 1 of the series on Sunday.

The Celtics on Tuesday had listed Tatum as doubtful for Game 2, so it’s not a surprise that he turned out to be unavailable for the game. This may be an issue that affects Tatum’s future play considering it’s a pain in his wrist.
Tatum scored 17 points and had 14 rebounds during Game 1, which Boston won 103-86. Tatum is the Celtics’ leading scorer and assist man. He averaged 26.8 points and 6.0 assists per game during the regular season, to go along with 8.7 rebounds per contest.
Boston is the No. 2 seed in the East and looking to defends its title this year after winning the NBA championship last year.
