Boston Celtics fans were feeling ruthless late during their team’s Game 1 blowout against the Philadelphia 76ers.
The Celtics beat the 76ers 123-91 at TD Garden in Boston, Mass. on Sunday to open their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series. The Celtics never trailed, and led by as much as 35 at one point.
With the game well in hand late in the fourth quarter, Celtics fans decided to rub salt in the wound. A spirited chant of “we want Boston” broke out, loud enough to be clearly heard on the television broadcast.

76ers fans chanted the exact same thing on Wednesday in the final two minutes of the team’s play-in win over Orlando, which clinched them the No. 7 seed and a meeting with the Celtics. Boston fans responded by essentially warning them to be careful what they wish for.
Realistically, the 76ers were facing an uphill climb in this series no matter what, especially with Joel Embiid sidelined. Their fans were excited to be moving on, but reality certainly set in on Sunday, and it did so in brutal fashion.
