Boston Celtics first-round draft pick Robert Williams is off to an inauspicious start in his NBA career.
Williams, who overslept for an introductory conference call, appears to have made some sort of mistake again, missing his flight to the team’s first summer league practice.
Can’t make this stuff up: Celtics say rookie first-round pick Robert Williams, who was introduced here Friday, missed his flight back to Boston and was not present for the start of summer league practice today. Williams already overslept an introductory conference call.

Many were surprised that Williams fell to the Celtics at No. 27 overall. Perhaps this is why. One mistake is forgivable, but after this happened again so soon after the first one, the Celtics must be a little bit annoyed. There is, of course, a chance that something legitimately happened, but it doesn’t look good so soon after one mistake. More established players in other sports have been benched for it.
