Report: Celtics have not discussed Russell Westbrook, Blake Griffin ‘in quite some time’

The Boston Celtics continue to be linked to big names, but it sounds like any moves remain far off.
Steve Bulpett of the Boston Herald reported Thursday that, while the Celtics have had interest in the Clippers’ Blake Griffin and Oklahoma City’s Russell Westbrook, nothing is imminent and no discussions have been had about either player “in quite some time.”
The Celtics are reportedly open to making moves, but they have taken the stance all along that they won’t give up more than they feel is appropriate. That, it is said, is why they did not get a deal for Jimmy Butler done.
Boston has been floated as a potential Westbrook destination, but this report makes it sound like nothing is imminent. The Celtics will likely continue to eye the market, but they don’t seem to be urgently trying to get something done just for the sake of it.
