Danny Green hopes to shoot his way out of slump
Toronto Raptors sharpshooter Danny Green had a miserable series from beyond the arc in the Eastern Conference Finals, and he knows he must get better in the NBA Finals.
Green shot just 4-for-23 from three-point range against Milwaukee, a 17.4 percent success rate. That’s a far cry from the 45.5 percent he shot during the regular season, and his solution is simply to shoot through it.
“Just keep shooting,” Green said Monday, via Tim Bontemps of ESPN. “Don’t think about it. And it’s hard not to think about it because everybody in the world’s telling you don’t think about it, [and] everybody you come across [is telling you] keep shooting it.
“People text me to ‘don’t think about it.’ I know that. … I’m not second-guessing myself.”
With the Raptors set to go up against sharpshooting Golden State, they might need Green to help them keep up. It’s tough to imagine he’ll be quite as bad in the Finals given his track record.
