The start of the 2019-2020 NBA season means it’s contract extension time, and Dejounte Murray is among those cashing in.

Murray is getting a four-year, $64 million contract extension from the San Antonio Spurs, The Athletic’s Shams Charania first reported.

Murray, 23, was entering the final year of his rookie deal with the Spurs and is making $2.3 million this season. San Antonio views him as a cornerstone moving forward and will pay him on average $16 million per season over the next four years, beginning in 2020-2021.

Murray is returning from a torn ACL suffered last October that caused him to miss the regular season. Two seasons ago he averaged 8.1 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.2 steals per game.
