Delonte West has not appeared in an NBA game in more than three years, and it sounds like life after basketball is not going all that well for him.
According to TMZ, a fan spotted West “wandering around” outside a Jack in the Box restaurant in Houston last week. The fan asked West for a photo and supposedly had a brief exchange with him.
It’s actually a sad story … the person who shot the photo is a huge basketball fan and said they noticed the former 1st round draft pick wandering around outside of a Jack in the Box around 10 PM all by himself with no shoes.
When the fan approached him and asked, “Are you Delonte West?” — he replied, “I used to be but I’m not about that life anymore.”
TMZ has a photo of the fan with West, and let’s just say the 32-year-old has looked better.
Other than a recent Twitter rant against LeBron James that may or may not have come from a fake account, we haven’t heard much from West. Perhaps we now know why.
