DeMar DeRozan set the Toronto Raptors’ single-game scoring record with a 52-point outburst against the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, and former teammate Terrence Ross was one of many who took note.
Speaking with reporters on Tuesday, DeRozan said that Ross, who previously held that title for Toronto with 51 points against the LA Clippers in January 2014, texted him a funny message about the record-breaking performance. Here is what he had to say, according to Josh Lewenberg of TSN:
DeRozan said he got a bunch of texts from other players and former teammates after his 52-point game. Terrence Ross (who held the previous Raps scoring record) was one of the first he heard from. His message: "About time. It took long enough."

Ross, who is now a member of the Orlando Magic, was teammates with DeRozan in Toronto for five seasons from 2012 to 2017. As for his text, it’s probably the funniest thing DeRozan has seen since this Instagram meme.
