Could DeMar DeRozan be on his way back to the west coast?
According to Stephen A. Smith, the answer is yes, the Raptors guard is supposedly LA-bound.
“He’s enjoying his last days in Toronto because he’ll leaving for Los Angeles in a few months anyways,” Smith said on ESPN’s SportsCenter on Sunday, via RealGM.
Smith didn’t specify which Los Angeles team, but common sense would dictate that, given their needs and their significant cap space, he meant the Lakers.
The Lakers are reportedly willing to offer DeRozan a max deal when he hits free agency this summer, but the Compton-born USC alum doesn’t sound all that interested in leaving Toronto.
With all due respect to Smith, though, he’s been off the mark before on Lakers matters, so do with this information what you will.
