The brother of Sacramento Kings star DeMarcus Cousins was arrested for his involvement in a brawl at a Tampa Bay nightclub early Thursday morning. DeMarcus was reportedly there when the incident occurred, but police say he was not involved.
TMZ reports that the fight began when DeMarcus and his brother, Jaleel, tried to get into the DJ area at The Drynk SoHo but were denied access by security. Jaleel allegedly threw a punch and a melee broke out.
Someone who was with Cousins and his brother reportedly grabbed DeMarcus immediately and rushed him outside of the club. When police arrived and tried to arrest Jaleel, he allegedly resisted and ended up being shocked with a taser. He was charged with misdemeanor battery and resisting arrest.
Jaleel Cousins played basketball at USF, where he averaged 8.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game during his senior season last year.
With all the drama that has gone on lately between DeMarcus and the Kings, the last thing he needs is off-court issues.
