DeMarcus Cousins suffered torn ACL during workout
DeMarcus Cousins simply cannot catch a break when it comes to injuries.
Cousins was forced to leave a workout earlier in the week with a knee injury, and his worst fears were realized when he visited with a specialist on Thursday. The big man suffered a torn ACL, as first reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic.

That is horrible news for a player who has battled back from multiple significant injuries and was looking to prove himself on a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers this year.
Cousins missed a significant portion of last season with the Golden State Warriors while he recovered from a torn Achilles, and he then suffered a torn quad muscle at the start of the playoffs. He was able to return later in the postseason, but the injury clearly hurt his value on the free agent market.
To make matters worse, Cousins looked like he was in great shape this offseason and had slimmed down quite a bit. Now, he likely won’t play at all during the 2019-20 season.
