Fisher was fired on Monday in the middle of his second season as head coach of the Knicks. The team went 17-65 in his first season and had shown improvement this season by going 23-31. However, a recent stretch in which they lost eight of nine games apparently led the Knicks to make the decision.
Fisher also damaged his authority and credibility as a coach when he got into a fight with the Grizzlies’ Matt Barnes over a woman.
