There was always an urban legend that the sexy man beast of a human being Dikembe Mutombo used to walk into clubs and ask “Who wants to sex Mutombo?” It was one of those fantastic tales that seemed so perfect yet too good to be true.
Unfortunately for us, the tremendous story is just a legend with no truth to it, so says Deke.
“I always say, ‘who came up with that crap?'” Mutombo said in response to Dan Le Batard, who asked him whether that story was true during an interview on “Dan Le Batard is Highly Questionable.”
“It’s tough when you get to the top. There’s always somebody trying to come up with some funny thing. Or maybe you took away all the girls from the guys,” said Mutombo, suggesting that sort of story was made up by some jealous guys.
“It’s a great story but it didn’t happen! I always try to correct that!”
Darn, that’s too bad. I always loved the image of Deke strolling into a club with his fur coat on and gold chains, lifting up a chalice in one hand, grabbing the mic in the other, and yelling out, “who wants to sex Mutombo?”
