Draymond Green sums up his career with the Warriors amid trade rumors

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has never played a game with another team in his NBA career, but that could change soon. He has reportedly been put on the trading block by the Warriors ahead of Thursday’s deadline, as the franchise looks to win at least one more ring with superstar point guard Stephen Curry.

The former NBA Defensive Player of the Year Green is aware that his time in the Bay Area may be coming to an end, so he let his emotions out following what could be his final game with the Warriors on Tuesday.

“I don’t know that it ends at 13 and a half, but if it does, what a f–king run it has been,” Green told reporters after Golden State’s 113-94 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers at Chase Center in San Francisco, Calif., via Dalton Johnson of NBC Sports Bay Area.

“I’ll take the fine for it. What a f–king run it has been. So that’s just how I feel. I don’t sleep well after games. So if I lose sleep tonight, I promise y’all it’s not because I think I’m betrayed. I just don’t really sleep well after the game.”

All Green could do is wait for whatever the Warriors decide on his future with the team. Whether he stays or not past the trade deadline, his Golden State legacy is secured.

“But I’m blessed, I’m lucky, I’m grateful. … I don’t know that it ends or whatnot. I don’t. We’ll all see. But if it does, it does. All good things must come to an end at some point. That’s kind of my sentiment and how I feel,” added Green, who has a player option for the 2026-27 season worth $27.67 million.

If he gets traded, there is still a chance for him to come back to the Warriors and finish his career with them.
