Brian Windhorst has made it clear that he does not believe an NBA comeback is in the cards for Dwight Howard, and it would appear the eight-time All-Star did not appreciate the criticism.
Windhorst went viral on Tuesday for the way he reacted to Stephen A. Smith suggesting that the Los Angeles Lakers should sign Howard to address their lack of frontcourt depth. Smith noted during “First Take” that Howard has always been in fantastic shape and is still a “big body who can rebound.”
Windhorst was in disbelief while listening to Smith. You can see the reporter’s hilarious reaction here.

Howard quickly caught wind of the exchange and fired back at Windhorst via social media with a savage four-word message.
“Layoff the burgers windy,” Howard wrote on X.
Howard obviously thinks he still has something to offer NBA teams. The 39-year-old pitched his services to the Lakers last month when Anthony Davis spoke about how the team needed a true center. Davis has since been traded as part of the Luka Doncic blockbuster, so the Lakers are even smaller now.
Howard has not played in the NBA since he was last with the Lakers during the 2021-22 season. He had a successful stint in Taiwan’s T1 League after that, but there is a reason he has not found work in the NBA. Windhorst is really just the messenger, but Howard chose to shoot him anyway.
