Report: Hassan Whiteside could be trade candidate for Bucks

Hassan Whiteside

The Milwaukee Bucks need some interior help, and that could lead them to take a walk on the Whiteside.

According to a report by Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders on Thursday, Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside could be a trade candidate for the Bucks before the Feb. 8 deadline (though there are some caveats):

Per Kyler:

The dark horse candidate for the Bucks could be Miami’s Hassan Whiteside, but sources close to the HEAT continue to say its unlikely they are going to make him available in trade, but admitted teams have called, meaning Miami has options.

Whiteside, 28, is in Year 2 of a four-year, $98.5 million contract. He has seen dips from last year in points, rebounds, blocks, and minutes a game. He sometimes finds himself benched down the stretch of the fourth quarter.

When it comes to Milwaukee, their center trio of John Henson, Thon Maker, and the newly-signed Marshall Plumlee is not getting it done right now. On top of Whiteside, they have also been linked to this big-name center recently.
