One Atlanta Hawks fan is taking the team name a little too literally.
During the first quarter of Monday’s 7-8 Eastern Conference play-in tournament game between the Orlando Magic and the Atlanta Hawks, one fan in the stands got extremely creative. Despite the game being held in Orlando (since the Magic had a better record than the Hawks during the regular season), the fan braved the sea of blue to produce a spectacle of his own.
The fan was dressed in full Hawks gear (complete with red feathers) and tried to distract the Magic at the free-throw line by [checks notes] cawing very loudly and repeatedly.

You can see the bizarre video at the link here.
The literal attempt to be a hawk did not quite work as Magic star Paolo Banchero sank the free throw while the feathery fan was singing to him. But because Orlando’s home arena was quiet in the midst of their star player’s foul shots, at least the fan succeeded in being as loud and as noticeable as possible. That is what you call dedication right there.
Meanwhile, Atlanta could have used the rallying cry themselves as they fell behind by double digits in the first quarter and went into halftime trailing Orlando by a tough score of 61-47. But at the very least, Hawks fans (even when in enemy territory) certainly know how to get creative. They have already gone viral many times in the past before over their ruthless taunts for opposing players who are at the line shooting free throws.
