Eric Collins apparently thinks that Tyler Herro can be a little unethical with his scoring.
The Charlotte Hornets television play-by-play announcer Collins was on the call for FanDuel Sports Network during Tuesday’s game between the Hornets and the Miami Heat. In the second quarter at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, N.C., the Heat guard Herro was dribbling against Hornets counterpart Josh Green.
Herro felt some contact from Green and immediately went into his shooting motion and drew the foul. That led to an exasperated reaction on the air from Collins, who said, “Oh my goodness. This guy is a foul merchant.”

“Foul merchant” (or “free throw merchant”) is a pejorative term used to describe players who extensively try to bait referees into calling cheap fouls. The term is primarily used these days to describe Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and was even brought up during an NBA Finals broadcast last year.
As for Herro, he actually managed to draw only a personal foul on the play rather than a shooting foul. But since the Heat were already in the bonus at the time, Herro wound up getting two free throws anyway. Unfortunately though, that was about as good as it got for Miami as they went on to lose to Charlotte by a blowout 136-106 final score.
The former NBA All-Star Herro is not exactly known as a foul baiter and has only averaged a meager 3.4 free throw attempts per game this season. But he still drew the ire on Tuesday of Collins, who also went viral earlier this year for the savage shot that he took at Luka Doncic during a game.
