Iman Shumpert delivered his own baby in his home bathroom

Iman Shumpert is multitalented, apparently, as the Cavaliers swingman delivered his baby in his own bathroom on Wednesday.

Shumpert’s fiancee, Teyana Taylor, said she didn’t even know she was in labor until the baby’s head began appearing around 6 AM, according to TMZ. By that point, it was obviously too late to get her to the hospital, so Shumpert had to step in. An emergency operator walked Shumpert through the delivery, and he even used a pair of red headphones as a makeshift method of tying the umbilical cord.

“It took two ten count pushes with my fiancé playing doctor and she entered this world into his bare hands,” Taylor told TMZ.

Mother and child are doing well, and as promised, Shumpert did name his daughter Iman Jr. Perhaps Shumpert has a career in medicine when he’s done with basketball.
