Kyrie Irving was the highest-profile player to request a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers this summer, but he reportedly wasn’t the only one.
According to Dave McMenamin of ESPN, forward Iman Shumpert also requested a trade at season’s end, and the Cavaliers could still be trying to accommodate that request.
The team is “not closing the door” on making more trades ahead of training camp, according to a source.
The Cavaliers had been close to trading Shumpert to the Minnesota Timberwolves or Houston Rockets earlier in the offseason, but could not finalize either deal.
Shumpert could have featured in another big deal that nearly came to fruition as well. There doesn’t seem to be the same urgency to trade him as there was to move Irving, though.
